Trying to setup php and mysql to work with dreamweaver MX

Hi I have installed php, mysql and apache. Apache and php are working fine. mysql is working from the command prompt, I have created a database.

My Problem.

When trying to set up a connection to the database with dreamweaver I get the following error.

An Unidentified error has occurred.

This appears after entering the following and then trying to select the database
Connection Name: rsconnect
MySQL Server: jedi (I have tried with the IP address)
User Name: root
Password: ****
Database: select

The server name does resolve to IP address. Everything is on one machine.
I am running the latest Mysql php and apache, do you think because I am using Dreamweaver MX and not the latest version it is not working/..

Does any one know what I am doing wrong. I know this is not much to go, but any help would be appreciated.

try localhost instead of the IP
