When I try setting /etc/profile to have a variable for SHLIB_PATH I only get the value if I telnet into the system. When I try going through the CDE the variable is not set. Why is this? How can I set a variable so anyone that logs into the server will have a variable set? I have been poking around /etc/dt with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I know this is my problem :)

Hi,
the last line in your .dtprofile will probably look something like

# dtsourceprofile=true

Uncomment that to make DCE read the standard .profile as well. Henrik Morsing
