trying to "make" mysql install; fail!!!!!

./configure works fine but when I "make" mysql I get some errors. Something that has to do with libmysql.lo and:

"passing arg 5 of 'gethostbyname_r' from incompatible pointer type"

and then:

"too few arguments to function 'gethostbyname_r'"

and then:

"warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast"

"Error..."
"Error.."
