Trying to open .qxd file with indesign.. Please help.

I received a file .qxd file from a client. I have indesign 2.0 but am unable to open the file because indesign seem to only be able to open QuarkXpress ver. 3.3-4.1x.

Is there any patch or any viewer i can open the file with? I downloaded the QuarkXPress demo but it is useless because i cant print it.

If the client is using Quark 5, they can be asked to resend the file as a version 4 file. If they are using Quark 6, they could not have known better.

Asking the client to resend the file is difficult. He was a freelancer and I have no other way of contacting him. I just need to find a program that would open this file.

It looks like you will have to find someone with Quark 5 so they can save it back to V4 for you. I dont know if ID CS will open it or not. Might be something to check out.

No version of InDesign supports Quark 5 or 6.

You should be able to go to any press shop with Quark and have them save it down for you. They would probably charge $20 for taking their time.
