trying to open an illustrator file

I have a issue that I'm hoping for some help on please.

A customer has sent me files in the following format(s):
.eps and .ai

Both of these I think (assume) are Adobe Illustrator files??? I do not own Illustrator....is there a reader that will open these file formats???

(I do have Pagemaker, but have not had any luck with trying to convert these)

try placing it inside a picture box in pagemaker.

Or you could open either format in Adobe Photoshop if you have it.
