trying to load ver's from text file

hey there,

I am trying to load veriables from a text file and I am having trouble remembering weather to use expressions and weather to use target or locations. It was posted before and I read it but I don't remember it. I tried to use the search engien and the faq's but I couldn't find it. so if any one can help me or knows what post I am talking about it would help alot.
