Cannot resolve collation conflict for equest to operation"

Hi

I am trying to link two SQL servers so that a view extracts information from data on both, from which I will report (using Crystal Reports).

I am merely trying to mirror an existing link between two existing servers (one which will soon be replaced by a new server currently in a testing and set-up environment).

On the existing servers link there is the option to use Other Data Source - Crystal Reports Data Provider
On the attempted new servers link this is not an option to me, I only have CrystalDecisions Closed Integrator Base and
CrystalDecisions Closed XML ADO Provider. How do I get hold of the Crystal Reports Data Provider?

Many thanks,

Does anyone know what this error means?

It sounds like a connectivity/driver error to me, but I'm not certain.

I searched for the phrase (adding in the r to request) and yahoo found nothing, so perhaps you're paraphrasing the error, which isn't a good idea.

A common alternative for linking disparate servers is to use MS Access, linking (not importing) in the databases, building the query in Access, then using the query as the data source for the report.

You'll discover that Access is a much better engine and it's simpler.
