Trying to Level 1 Reset my BCM50

I have been trying to Level One reset my BCM50, however when I push the pin into the reset hole and press the button, nothing happens. I tried pressing the button once and then tried again pressing and holding, and still nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is apprriciated. Thanks!

Have you been following the guide/flowchart that shows the red and green flashy lights? If not, you'll want to track one down.

What software release do you have on the BCM50? The reset button can be used to initiate a reset only up to release 3 (or maybe release 5).

Right. The reset button only works to R3. R5 or higher is level reset by initiating an SSH session to the BCM50 using PuTTY. Problem is you have to know the nnadmin password.

The question is why are you trying to do a level 2 reset?. If you are doing it because you don't have the password, then contact one of us as we can probably help you out.

Once you login to Element Manager with nnsupport you go to "Accounts and Privileges" and change the nnadmin password to anything you want.

You need to unplug the system and do it on start up. Can't just push the reset pin while the unit is up and running.

Follow the directions in the manual and it will tell you exactly when to start the procedure.
