Trying to Keep Together Sub-Report Output

Hi all,

I have searched through the forum and don't think I've seen this particular issue addressed here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have two- and three-deep sub-reports nestled inside a main report in Access XP. I chose sub-reports rather than grouping because otherwise the main query would have become ridiculously complex. (However, the main report does also have a grouping section.) Using sub-reports was also advantageous in this case because some of them are used in other reports.

However, the "keep together" functionality doesn't seem to be working within the sub-reports. For example, if the output of a sub-report is 6 lines long, those lines may very well be split across pages of the main detail section. The sub-report output is never more than a few lines.

This is occurring despite setting the "keep together" property to "yes" everywhere possible within the sub-reports and their control boxes. (The main report detail section has its "keep together" property turned off, because otherwise the group header prints on a page by itself if the detail section is more than one page long.)

Any thoughts on what I might be missing and how I can force the entire sub-report to stay on a single page? My expectation is the "keep together" functionality should be forcing a page break before the sub-report when the output would otherwise be split across pages. But again, this isn't working at the moment.

Thanks so much for any advice and suggestions.
