You can create AD Sites whereby all the sites are members of the same domain - thats the way I do things and its "better" IMO than starting with loads of sub-domains and inter-domain trust relationships.
Basically create a new AD site at your existing site for each new site. Plus a reverse lookup zone for the new subnet in DNS.
Go to the new sites, dcpromo the new servers and join them to the domain as DC's in the new sites makes sure you have at least one GC at each site and that you have added the new DNS server to your existing DNS zone correctly.
AD does most things automatically but you want to make sure that each site has a site licensing server nominated, that your GC has been selected and that DNS is all working happily.
On each DC in addition to having the TCP/IP settings configured so DNS looks at the DNS server at that site I also have a DNS server entry for the bridgehead server at the other sites.
There are lots of knowledgebase articles on this so read through them first but hopefully this post will set you on the right track.
