Trying to install Java 5 on 5.3 1

I am trying to install Java 5 on AIX 5.3. I am not an AIX administrator and need a little help. Upon trying to install I am being informed that some requisite files are not updated enough for the installation.

MISSING REQUISITES: The following filesets are required by one or more
of the selected filesets listed above. They are not currently installed
and could not be found on the installation media.

bos.mp 5.3.0.30 # Fileset Update
bos.mp64 5.3.0.30 # Fileset Update
bos.net.tcp.client 5.3.0.30 # Fileset Update
bos.rte 5.3.0.30 # Fileset Update
bos.rte.libc 5.3.0.30 # Fileset Update

How do I go about updating these base files? The versions installed are 5.3.0.10.

Go to

http://www.ibm.com/support

, Downloads and Drivers , select pseries (UNIX) in Category , select any AIX link (eserver p5 for example), and then go to Quick links to AIX fixes. In Specific fixes select AIX 5.3, and then you just have to enter the fileset name in the search string box, and select the level required.

I think your aix box was installed with the base installation only! Try looking into the AIX 5.3 CDs for those filesets! Install them first then continue your java installation.

Oh i'm sorry i think what MoreFeo is correct. these are required updates to the 5.3.

Thanks MoreFeo. I had been on the IBM site and pulling my hair out trying to find the right link(s). Now I have to update about a bazillion filesets which should take me the better part of forever, but at least I can get to it thanks to your help!

In forgot, in one of the steps it shows you "Include prerequisites", "Replace superseded" and "Include ptfs that correct regressions".
I usually just check the first one, and let the two others unchecked
