I AM TRYING TO GHOST HARDDRIVE FOR 007 MLM .CAN'T GET IT COPIED CORRECTLY.CAN ANYONE TO ME HOW TO PROCEED IN GETTING THIS ACCOMPLISHED SUCCESSFULLY. THANX...

PETC,

The Lucent Legend MLM007 is proprietary software designed by Brooktrout for AT&T/Lucent. It isn't a DOS based software and won't copy successfully with Ghost without an understanding of the software.

Why are you making copies? Do you have a hard drive failing and are trying to copy your programming onto a new drive? Call me and I'll discuss it with you further

Hi Andrew,
Same deal with me too, except a Mail R 1.8. Intermittent noisy drive. I put this project on the back burner until I find something promising. An older version of ghost almost worked. The system is running an older version of CP/M, multiuser. Yup, I have some junk. It's all I can afford.

go back through the threads here it seems like I recall somebody saying they had done this succsfully
I was going to bbokmark it ...but you know how that goes.

I've done it on 007, MM1.0, 2.0, 2.5 and the new 3.0. I can't imagine what could be wrong unless your version of Ghose is older. It is Not Dos or Unix or anthing like that. So, unless your version of Ghost can do partitions it doesn't recognize (like ours does), it won't work.

Ghost is able to do a sector by sector copy of ANY drive. The replacement drive MUST be identical for it to work though.

Hi all,
I read in the ghost docs. that a bigger drive could be used but would appear as the smaller drive. Could be wrong but I'd like a newer, more reliable drive. I also tried to find a copy of CP/M that I could format the new drive with and copy the files over using CP/M. No luck yet.
Any other ideas excluding the purchase of a new drive from Avaya?
-Chris

Ghost has limititations to its use in properly copying/cloning most of the AT&T/Lucent/Avaya/Audix/Octel hard drives. Reliability problems can show up down the road - that's been our experience. You would think "Sector by Sector" but not always with CP/M etc.

The CP/M programming was used by Brooktrout in its proprietary software they wrote for most of AT&T/Lucent/Avaya's VM components - primarily because it was used in the very early 90's as its platform and it worked well for them and they continued to build on it. Good luck finding CP/M or anyone knowledgeable in programming with it.

We can repair almost any AT&T/Lucent/Avaya/Audix voice mail product made to date with the exception of the PVM Voice Messaging PC Cards.
