I chose to use DHCP to automatically configure the network settings, and I chose to load it on startup. (Or something like that.) Unfortunately, I am not able connect to the internet, OR browse the LAN!

=(

which is most unfortunate, because there are about 7 gigs of mp3's on the file server (running win2k). All of the other machines are running a version of windows, the file server is running win2k professional.

TIA

Hi,

That's not too difficult to change. For rh 7.1 you can run (as root) '/sbin/netconf' then select the first item on the 'client tasks' tab - Host name & IP network devices. Then click on the 'adaptor 1' tab and the radio buttons right at the top determine if the interface is configured for dhcp. Set to manual and enter a IP address and subnet mask for your lan - save, exit, etc.

(Its the same thing using linuxconf)
