I have a client that is a small forgein car dealer.
I have created two line pools on the phones to try and use the buttons on the T7316 more efficently. Pool A for the Sales and Administration and Pool B for the Service/Parts staff.
The challenge is trying to get the respective Pools to ring in the different areas. I have unassigned the lines to each set in order to have the LINE POOL button, but I cant get the phone to ring when there is a call.
Is this even possible. The software version is as follows;
NT7B64DK 0003 Rel 01
CICS-S 4.2 S/W WI 06.00
2001/06/26

As well I am trying to develop Hunt Groups for the Service Department and the Sales Department but having little luck with that as well.

Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!!!!

Line pools are for outbound use, not inbound ringing. You might want to look at Hunt Groups instead.

Do you have a voicemail with the auto attendant answering the calls first?
CCR Tree works great for departments--- Press 1 for sales---> hunt group 01
press 2 for service--> huntgroup 02

What Voice Mail do you have?

Like Marvo said you can set up hunt groups to ring and appear at the correct departments and then have the lines ring to the hunt groups. for outgoing calls you can assign the lines either into one outgoing pool or two pools per the need of the customer. (assigning them into two pools will let you capture the callers that are just returning calls to the cid that they see on their phones.

when you are setting up hunt groups remember that they will not follow the forwarding of the phones they ring on so if you want to send calls to an auto attendent you have to program that separately. and if you want to send the calls to a voicemail you need to overflow the hunt group to the phone the mailbox is assigned to.
