I have a site that is trying to foul up a perfectly good Magix by converting from Hybrid to Squared. [thumbsdown] I know I will lose the DID numbers and the park feature. The site does have 39 analog lines. What do I do for line appearances?

Believe me when I say I have tried to talk them out of this! So assuming I am actually going to have to do this what else am I going to lose?

Why not keep it in PBX/Hybrid, remove the lines from the pools, and then assign them to the extensions as needed?

Possible, but they are NOT assigning lines to an individual user. They wnat line appearances on all phones. I was thinking of using 'group 70' buttons with ring immediate but am not sure how that would work. Of course, I do not have a system I could throw on the bench and play with either.

Well, I know not what there motivation is, but you certainly put an apearence of a POOL on the phones.

Problem is, when a call is put on hold at one phone, you can't get to it from others, without using Pick Up.

-OR- as Ron Popeel would say:

BUT WAIT, THERE's MORE!

OK, lets just say extension x gets a call on one of the lines in the 70 Pool.

AND he puts it on hold.

AND he knows that it is LINE 807.

When he puts it on hold, his POOL BUTTON is FLASHING Fast, everyone elses pool button is DARK.

So, unless he transfers it to extension y, he will have to make an announcement to ext y to pick up 807.

Kinda' clumsy but it can work.

39 lines is WAY TOO BIG for a SQUARE System.

What is it that they are really trying to do here?

Do they have D-I-D?

Find out what their "reason" is to see all the lines, then show them another way to do what they are after. My guess is that the receptionist is to be able to say, "Joe, pick up line 813", then he presses the 13th line button. In truth, that call could be parked, then he could then pick it up with the pickup function.
Alternativelyshow them the cost of having to buy all operator consoles with a DSS programmed to see "all the lines". After that they will come up with their own way to work around the "problem."

ugh, the maximum buttons on any Magix/Legend is 34 buttons... I hope they dont want to see all of the lines!

I must make ammends for the following:

"Well, I know not what there motivation"

I should have used "their".
