I have downloaded some tools to use in AIX 4.3 and to load them I need a command called smit. How can I get this?

What's the meaning of "load"? If you mean "installation",
by root "smit install", then follow the help.

If you type smit (or smitty if you don't have X windows) and you get a command not found error, you will have to add the path where smit is to your PATH environment statement. I don't have an AIX system I can check at the moment, but smit and smitty will be somewhere in /usr (you can do find on the command from /usr).

To find the path where smit is kept type:

whence smit

It's usually kept in /usr/bin/
