I just finished speaking to a Business Objects rep and I am still confused over the license agreement.

My organization has Crystal Reports 10 Advanced Developer Edition, Crystal Enterprise Embedded, and Enterprise Professional 5 named license (30 day eval).

What I would like to do is install Enterprise onto a server and then allow people to login and run reports on their own. However, I do not know if what we have is the correct version or if Embedded will allow this to happen.

The Business Objects rep told me that we would basically need to upgrade to Business Objects Enterprise XI and purchase a group of licenses at ~$750 per name.

Can I do what we need with Enterprise 10 Embedded? It seems like I should be able to make this happen with the Report Application Server.

You may be able to deliver the solution with Crystal Enterprise Embedded as your solution. You will need to do some coding and developing. Enterprise Professional is a complete system for delivering reports that you can use with little or no modifications. They do provide an SDK if you want to make changes however.

Depending on the number of users, number of reports, projected usage and growth, fault tolerance requirements, etc... you may be able to get by with XI Server or Enterprise XI Professional.

If you require a more specific answer you will need to prived more details.

Thanks for the reply. Let me first ask you this: What does Enterprise Embedded actually do? Right now I have Crystal Reports 10 installed on my PC along with a third party scheduler. Several time per week the scheduler will send people or groups of people differenct reports. Sometimes they are single reports to one person and sometimes they are batched reports (as much as 50 at once) that have diferent parameters per their destination. It's a pretty simple system that have created actually.

Now, what benifit would Enterprise Embedded give me in addition to what I can already do?
