Trying to open up a special link to a partner's website that the user must login to.

I have defined the protocol. TCP Ports 8003-8004 destination port, source port 1024-65535. Added their IP Address as a host and defined a new rule to allow accessing that IP address using that protocol.

When users try and access, their IE screen just goes blank and nothing seems to happen. The Raptor firewall logs show a message of 238. "http notice: The CONNECT method cannot be used to access port 8004 on the requested server due to the current firewall configuration."

What am I missing? Unfortunately, I can't really talk to anyone technical at their end, just help dek folks that keep saying open port 8003 and 8004.

Thanks for any help! Dan

If this app is accessed using a browser what you want to do is open additional http ports within:
proxy services--->httpd--->additional http (or https) ports. Then within your rule add http* to included services. Before you do any of this thhough I would delete the gsp that you created and then, very important, reboot the firewall. Then add the ports to the httpd, after the reboot. If you don't rebott you could end up with a port conflict and have to reboot anyways. I belive that following those steps should resolve your issue. Either way please post so we can know if it worked or not.

Billhome,

It worked just like you suggested. Thanks! Dan
