Hi all,
I have bunch of btr files and I'm trying to create ddf files through PCC/sqlDM 8.6

These are the steps I took:

under my my machine ->Database(engine), I did it right-click to create new database.

I enter "mydatabase" without quotes in the Name field

In directory field, I have tried to point to either of the data files on my machine (client) and also server machine and I get error message

Cannot retrieve database names. You do not have
sufficient access rights for the operation.

First of all, mydatabase is a new database that I'm TRYING to create, so this doesn't make
sense to me. Second of all, I'm also one of the administrators on my machine, I don't if
this mean something....

I'm stuck and need help, guys.

I would be very..very greatful of any advice you may have.
Thanks,
Wendy

First, it's trying to retrieve the list of other databases on the system to make sure you don't create a duplicate. Also, and this applies to remote data, you must have Admin rights to create a database.
You said you had data local and a client, but do you actually have a WOrkgroup Engine or just the client? If it's just the client, then you won't be able to create databases anyway because you need an engine.
