I just got an old IVS and trying to set it up. I already wiped all previous programming from it, and I'm now ready to program the whole thing from scratch. I hate the idea of doing it in CAT mode, but so far, I couldn't get my computer to talk to it.

I have a serial cable that nicely plugs into the PN-CP03 processor card, and I have Matworx installed on my computer which I have been using to maintain an IPS 2000.

But it won't connect to this IVS... I tried different baud rates, tried both ports on the proc-card, but no luck.

Any advices?

Use either matworx 3.61 with service pack 4 loaded OR use Hyperterm set @ default:- Space = DE, .= write, enter = step.

I got in!!!
I used Hyper terminal, 1200 baud, and also had to use a null-modem on the cable. And also, I had to hit "/" to give command prompt. I still have to figure out the rest of the keys.

Also, every time the system puts something on my screen, it is followed by a weird character. I still have to tweak the settings to get that off.

But at least I can get started this way.

Thanks.

Make sure you have under properties/setting/emulation - VT100 terminal emulation and under ASCII setup/ASCII receiving, you have check off Append Line Feeds to incoming line ends.

That handled it!!! Thank you guys.
I'm in full control of that system now:)

If you check out the FAQs you will find I have posted all the keys and what they do.
