Hi All,

I'm an Avaya Definity admin by trade. Our offices in China are experincing some growth and are looking at the existing system in Shanghii & purchasing a system in Guangjow (I know I didn't spell it right).

In Shanghii we're looking at growing to around 150 users and implementing a call center. In Guangjow we're looking at around 80 users.

Personally I do not think the BCM is a good fit from what I've been told...but I'm hoping you folks here can either give me the pros & cons for a BCM in this envinroment, how it differs from a full fledged PBX, and where I might find some of this info on Nortel's website.

TIA,
Steve

the main difference would be Capacity ...
then the feature sets are different in the BCM and M1/ succession
if you want something to compare it must be the Succession

As a BCM user with no great technical knowledge on the platform I can offer the following observations.

The BCM has a limited number of Pickup Groups, Only suports 3 way conferencing & has a limit to the number of DDI's that can be supported.

that said provided you are aware of the limitations what it does it seems to do well.

comparing a definity to a BCM is like comparing the whole royal navy to a single WWII Destroyer

more like a drop in an ocean.

Why is IP GURU wasting time with BCM . You should get your knob heads to stick with the ipo.
