Greetings vbscript gurus, as the title of the thread states, I am looking for a way to automate changing the Exchange server name in Outlook. I created thread955-1399848 in the Exchange 2003 forum because I am performing an inter-forest migration of about 80 users utilizing both ADMT v3 and Exchange Migration Wizard. I have successfully migrated a few test users and their mailboxes, but unlike performing a mailbox move the Exchange server doesn't get updated in Outlook so I would be forced to change this manually. I found a few keys in the registry under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook that point to the current Exchange server. I have a variety of Outlook versions, 2000, 2002, and 2003. Has anyone ever had to do what I am trying to do before? Can anyone give me some hints on how to tackle the different versions of Outlook? I'm not sure if all of the subkeys in the registry path above are identical for all installations so if they are different how would I search for all instances of the Exchange server name and then change it? Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give.

Hmm...as for registry changes...using WMI and the StdRegProv would allow for looking and making changes to the registry. I'll take a look and play around with this since we have some migrations going on at my work too and this may come in handy.

If all that is needed is a registry change...enumerating all keys/values and replacing the old server name with the new one under should be fairly easy. HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
