I am trying to connect to a HP Class A 9000 via the console port using a PC and Hyperterm. I have tryied to us all kinds of different settings and different cables.

Does anyone have the clear and simple setup for this? I just need to know how to set Hyperterm up and what cable it seems like it would be easy.

thanks for any help you could be

Hi otc1966,

You should have a console cable delivered with the A-Class. It will have a 9-pin plug at one end and a 24-pin at the other.
If the A-Class has a three-legged octopus connector, take it out and plug the 24 pin plug in it's place with the 9-pin going into your PC.

It is very temperamental, but this configuration seems to be less so. Port settings? 9600, 8 bit and 1 stop bit. Play with hardware/None for control.

Good luck.
