When does the TRXSORCE get populated? I see this field in many tables, but I am not sure how a value gets assigned to it and what table it originates from.


I have a stand-alone application that inserts sale orders into GP. I believe the first time the TRXSORCE is affected is when I am inserting data into the SOP10105 for the transaction tax detail record. But I don’t know what to put for the TRXSORCE number. Any ideas?

Under Setup > Posting > Audit Trail Codes will show you the next number.

You can scan the SY01000 table for that TRXSORCE to grab the next number, then once the document has been inserted, you can increase the number by 1.

I entered a sales order, then saved. The next number does not get updated. I then transferred the order to an invoice, it gets increased. I entered a manual invoice, the next number does not get increased. I posted this manual invoice, then the number gets increased. Therefore, this table is only updated when an order is transferred or invoice is posted. You do not need to worry about this table for your imports.
