Have setup a W2K Network with 4 domain controllers & one file and print server.

DC1 holds the I.M, WINS, DHCP.
DC2 holds the PDC Emulator, DNS and G.C
DC3 holds the S.M, G.C, WINS, and D.N.M
DC4 holds the DNS, G.C and RID Master.

Now we also are running a novell network with NT4 servers as well...We r migrating from novell and NT4 to win2000.
Problem i am gettin is setting up a trust relationship between the PDC(NT4) and the W2K servers.
The trust relationships on the W2K side have been done but when trying to setup the trust relationships from the NT4 side, i get "COuld not find domain controller for this domain" when adding the W2K domain as a Trusted domain.
Adding the W2K as a "trusting domain" in NT4 PDC worked fine.
I can ping all W2K servers from the NT4 PDC with no problems... All D.C's reside on the same subnet

any ideas guys ?

thanks a lot.... :)

If the NT 4 and 2000 machines are separted by a router or firewall you must make sure that all ports that is used for Secure Channel Communications through Windows NT/2000 are opened to be able to establish the trust relationships. You will be able to ping even if the ports are blocked because pinging uses a different port.
