We have a 1 Windows 2000 Server with Exchange 2000 SP 4 & Novell 5.0 with 6 workstation logging on to Windows & Novell server with Novell Client (recently downloaded). But every now & then my workstation fails to log in to Windows 2000 server stating “ The logon request failed because the trust relationship between the workstation & the primary domain failed.” this happened with Windows 2000 pro and now I have installed Windows Xp Pro and still I am having this problem. All the other workstation mostly Windows XP pro never had any problem. Every time I have to disjoin the domain and rejoin it to make it work. Could some one explain the reason for this problem?

Thanks

I am having this same problem with windows 2000 server active directory (mixed mode) and windows 2003 servers. This is also an issue for a small handful of 2000 clients. If anyone has any info on this problem please reply.

I'm having the same problem which started only Monday. We have Win 2k server and dozens of Win XP clients and suddenly two of them keep refusing to log in. I noticed my licensing server has my server listed as out of licenses due to the high turn-over rate for PC's and people. I cleaned it out but I'm not confident that it will help.

The bad clients act like they can't even connect to the server yet I can ping them and they resolve fine for dns lookups.

I can now re-join the domain faster than a jack rabbit on a date but since it is happening every day this is getting scary.

I've discovered the two problem PC's were named the same on the net. Not possible normally but in this case they were on different subnets but I'm hoping the licensing server choked because of it. I deleted the systems from the license server and rejoined once more. Hopefully that was it.
