Our Windows 2000 Server has just started to behave very strangley and several of our Windows XP Workstations have reported the following error when trying to logon to the Network
"The trust relationship between the workstation and the primary domain failed".
The server's Event Log says that the Trust needs to be re-established as the SID is different since the Domain was rebuilt, which I don't understand as it wasn't re-built.
I have successfully resolved the problem by re-joining the XP workstations to the Network, but in doing so they create a new profile, which is a damned nuisance as all the data, Emails, Favourites etc for the old profile has disappeared and has to be copied across which can take ages.
Can anyone tell me what is going wrong and how I can fix it without re-joining the workstations to the Domain and how can I continue to use the existing user profile and avoid creating a new profile.
I am completely baffled by the this problem and any help will be appreciated.
