Trust relastionship question

Ok, so we have two domains.

Domain 1 and Domain 2

Domain 1 has a 2003 server DC running in it and Domain 2 has a 2000 server, and a 2003 server running in it. These domains have a trust relationship.

What I need to know is if I raise the forest functionality or the domain functionality in Domain 1 (with 1 2003 server) will there be issues because Domain 1 has a trust relationship with Domain 2 (running 2003, and 2000 server)?

In short: How would Raising the domain functional level effect a domain trust?

Thanks for your response ntinlin. Is there any Technet or other articles that you know of with more info on this. I have searched for a while but have not found any that directly addressed my question.
