We're trying to create a trust between an NT domain and a W2K3 domain. We've created the incoming trust on the AD DC and have been trying to add the domain as trusted on the NT domain. We get the error "Cannot find Domain Controller for this domain".

I found an article from Microsoft and tried the suggestions in there. Including changing the restrict anonymous registry key and ensuring the LMHOSTS file was properly configured but still get the error.

If I purposly enter an incorrect password for the trust it identifies this but when using the correct password we get the original error. This suggests that some connection muts be working to validate the passwords.

Is there anything else we can try as we are really stuck now!

Does your NT domain have DNS forwarding to the 2003 for name resolution? Or you can allow that NT server to grab a copy of your DNS records for your 2003 domain from the 2003 DNS server by creating a secondary zone. Does your NT PDC resolve the 2003 domain by name?
