TRUST BETWEEN DOMAINS

I HAVE BEEN ASKED MY NEW JOB TO CREATE TWO DOMAIN CONTROLLERS TRUST RELATIONSHIP IN BETWEEN THEM. THEN USING (ADMI TOOLS-active directory domains and trusts) AND I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE TRUST ENTERING domain name, USERNAME AND PASSWORD BUT IT SAYS DOMAIN CAN NOT BE CONTACTED PLEASE TRY AGAIN, and keep saying that since last week.

CAN YOU HELP ON THIS.

When you ping from one domain to server on another domain, AND if no reply, ofcourse you get this answer.
Are the two domain using the same DNS ? Are the two domains in different location ? First try to solve until you can ping from TRUSTING domain to trused domain. After that you will have no problem. Short cut is if you edit the "HOST" file in /system32/driver/etc and add a line "ip-address qualified domain name", the trusting domain will find the trusted domain but this is not a good solution, just a short cut.
