Trunking over Satellite

Have two bacms that we are attempting to trunk over a tachyon dish. Voip phones work Ok to the mainland work ok, but the trunks never set up the calls, the routing is correct as we set that up on a lan before moving it out, and then changed the requisite IP addresses. Is it just timing out because of latency or are other things I should be looking for?
 
If the routing is in place (BCM A can ping BCM B), I'd look towards traffic filters or NAT somewhere in the middle that might cause the issue.

Even if that is all good and well, in my opinion it would take a small act of God to get good call quality over a satellite link.
