Hello,
Can someone please set me straight on this please. I have two 2950 switches connected together using crossover cable. I have vlan 10 on switch A and vlan 10 on Switch B. I cannot ping from a machine connected to a port which is a member of Vlan 10 on switch A to a port which is member of the same Vlan on switch B. Is there any way of doing this on L2 or do I need to introduce a router into the config.
My limited knowledge of this is that if I correctly use vtp command and config vtp domain and config one of the switches to be the server and the other to be a client that I could get the two machines pinging each other because when the frame left Switch A it would add a Vlan header to the frame which would be read by Switch B without needed a router- is this correct??
Thanks
