Trunk to trunk transfer

I have a customer that wants to do trunk to trunk transfer.
They have a MICS with 4.0 software and loop start analog lines. The lines are set for "supervised" and I turned on "allow redirect" for that ext. just for chits and giggles. I get "transfer denied" regardless of trying to manualy transfer to a line button or diailing a destination code that I have programmed. I have also tried this on 6.0 software, no luck. I know you can do this with a T-1/PRI, could have sworn I have done it in the past with loop start lines. With line redirection and external call forward one would think the system would let me do this. Any input would be great.

Build a Route:
Services - Show
Ringing Service - Next to
Routing Service - Show
Routes - Show
Show Route: 001 - Show
Dialout: No Number - Leave alone - Next
Use: ( ) - Change to Pool you want it to use. (Pool A)
DN Type: Public
Build a Destination Code:
Routing Service - Show
Routes - Next
Dest Codes - Show
Show destcode: - Add
DstCode: (enter code) - OK
Normal: 000 - Change to route built - Show
AbsorbLength: ALL
Don't have to worry about Night schedule etc.
Make sure the phone has Allow Redirect set to Yes and that you've allowed it access to the line pool you're using.
Then simply walk up to the phone and press Call Forward Button or Feature 4 Dial the destination code + phone number.
All calls that ring on the phone will be forwarded! All calls, including IC calls. So if you want one particular line to be forwarded but not others, simply program ONLY that line to appear & ring on the set.
Note: If you have a PRI then you are already using a route and destination code to get out to begin with so you can just use the same code to do the external call forwarding.
If you want the CF to be on a No Answer condition, program the cell number including the destination code in the CFNA heading of Capabilities for the station you want to forward. That way you will get the forward after a specified # of rings...

With MICS 4.0 you have to do a manual transfer using F3 or a line redirection. Line redirection requires you to set it up using F84 where you specify the lines/pools. This will effect the whole system.
Upgrading to Rls 4.1 will give you external call forward by telephone using routing, NAMs and CPs will give it to you using hookflash transfers if you have centrex like line abilities.
I wonder if you can program pauses and links into the dial string on a line redirection??

You are on the right track, you do have to turn on "allow re-direct" and you have to setup a "destination code" with a "route" associated to it. Setup your phones with access to the "pool" that the "destination code" is assigned to. Then when transferring calls externally you press Transfer>Destination Code>External Number>Join and your transfer should be completed.

I beleive what you are trying to accomplish requires that you set up "Remote Access" packages on both ends. Read up on remote access in your manuals.You need to allow each trunk group access to the other.

All he wants to do is transfer a call to an external number, he shouldn't have to build a remote package. I have this setup at my office and it works. If you've got things setup the way I posted it should work, one thing I forgot to mention is that you will lose some volume when the transfer is completed.

In MICS 4.0, for a 'manual transfer' it is a conference using F3. The initater then remove himself from the call and the two outside lines are connected. Even one caller can be connected to dial tone this way and dial his own number. (provided the COS on the phone/line allows.)
