Hi

I have a Multi-LIM MD110 with PSTN routes which have members spread accross several LIM's. Some of the LIM's have no members so that when callers dial an External destination code, the call has to switch via the Group Switch to an available route member in another LIM accordingly.

The above all works fine ! If however, I power down LIM's 1 & 2, the LIM's that have no route members present "congestion" to callers dialling out whilst those LIM's with route members process the calls satisfactorily.

It seems to me that this loss of functionality is possibly something to do with "Common Function" program unit(s)in LIM's 1 and/or 2 not being accessible at the time. Is this a correct assumption ?

If so which is/are the concerned program unit(s) and could it/they exist in say LIM's 1 and 5 for example as opposed to LIM's 1 & 2 and function correctly.

Any other theories welcome also !!

Thankyou

gedii.

Hello Gedii,
it's the program DIM, normaly this program is in both lim 2 and 3.

Hi

I think the program unit is DTM

Hi
How many LIMs do you have.
If you have 5 LIM system then DTM would be in LIMs 3&5.
P.S
DIM if for e.g Voice Mail ICU.
How are your LIMs sited , are they all on the same site.

Hi
If you do CNPIP:UNIT=DTM;
It will tell you which LIMs DTM is loaded in.

Thanks for the advice.

Unit DTM resides in LIM's 2 & 3 which seems ok. The system has 14 LIM's.

I expect DTM should have gone active in LIM 3 immediately on "failure" of LIM 2 in that case ? Could it require a patch ? System is BC10 / CNA143GB. Any other possibilities ?

Cheers

Hi
If you take LIM 2 out of service and do CNPIP:UNIT=DTM;
it will show you if DTM is active in LIM 3.
If that is the case and you can dial out in the LIM's that have no route members present then it could be a problem with the power down of LIM 1.
I dont know how easy it is for you to test this but try to isolate the problem to the shutdown of LIM 1 or 2.

I believe, that it is possible to have the unit in LIM1 and LIM5 isstead 1 and 2. The distribution of the units via LIMDISP is in many cases a recommendation from Ericsson.

I´m not sure, but the follow procedure could work:
dusii;
lapur:unit=,lim=x; (x is lim with the inactive unit)
lapul:unit=,lim=5;
sfpui...
rfpui...
sfcei;
ladci!!!

But don´t trust me, because it is really systemcritical! Let us hear, what whosrdaddy (god) will tell us...
