Trunk not disconnecting

I have a little problem with my trunks. A client makes a call and after ending the call and dropping the phone hook, the trunk cannnot be used by another person. It keeps giving a busy tone. I have to always reset ( busyout and release) the trunk before it can be used by somebody else.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

What kind of trunks do you have? Could be no disconnect supervision on analog trunks, or really several things.

It's an analog trunk (Loop start). What I've done in the interim was to change the analog busy tone disconnect to Y, still monitoring......any suggestions?
