I have the COS option number 805 (Trunk no dial tone alarm) enabled in the ASU trunks COS options. I guess when the dial tone went out it sends an alarm but when it regains a dial tone it does not automatically return the trunk back to service. I tested all the trunks manually dialing direct trunk access code *50 001, 002, etc. The following results. Trunk 1 - No Access, Trunk 4 - CO Line Busy, Trunk 7 - No Access, Trunk 8 - CO Line Busy, Trunk 9 - CO Line Busy. I know I can fix this problem by going into diagonostics and manually return the trunks to service but I shouldn't have to do this everytime this happens should I? Is there a way to fix this? Also the trunks above appear to be receiving incoming calls on that trunk (yes i made sure it didn't roll over to another one). Please let me know so I can fix the MAJOR ALARM. Thanks

In the trunk circuit descriptor is a little option called something like "retain trunk busyout status". It is probably enabled on your PBX. Disable it.

Also you may want to disable COS 805 if you are not really having problems with those trunks. The pbx will sometimes have problems with stutter dialtone, or if it is a bit slow. These things can be contributing to your alarms.

you may have a problem with intermittent dial tone and have in the descriptor of the trunk "no seize alarm" enabled.

I disabled "save busyout status" which i guess is the same as retain trunk busyout status and rebooted the system and 3 of the trunks came back online (the ones that said CO Line Busy) but the 2 that said no access still say no access. What should I do with the no seize alarm? here's the options

No seize alarm NO
No release alarm NO

Do you have dial tone at the trunks in question going into the switchboard?
Also was the trunks terminated on the wrong pair into the switchboard?
You can leave the options you mentioned to "no". If all seems connected ok then I would swap two trunks and test. What I mean is take trunk 1 coming from the central office and put it on trunk 4 and trunk 4 onto trunk 1 coming from the central office, this would prove your trouble in or out.
