Hello,

I'm trying to configure an analog trunk from my universal trunk card to communicate with my voip fxo module. I can't seem to find the right settings to make it work. What type of trunk should I use ? (tie, cot, did.. ?) What are the things I need to set ? I know I have to build my route (ld 16) then my trunk (ld 14). I have already built my cdp to test an extension on my voip bbx.

Please help.

Thank you.

Marco.

On a FXO you will need COT most likely LOOP START

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

Seems like you want something that will give you dial tone when the fxo goes "off hook". That would be either an analog 500 type TN or a LDR tie line. The LDR tie is the only way I can think of on an NT8D09.
COT type won't give dial tone toward the fxo.

Thanks for your input. I have tried both already. I will try again and will give you the result.

Hello again,

I have tried many things. The closest I got is this: I can dial from my voip pbx to the meridian and it works (it shows the route and member on the display though). When I dial from the meridian to the voip pbx, I get a busy signal. I have traced my trunk tn to be sure that my cdp is working as expected and it does.

Here are the prt of my route and member:

Thank you

When you dial 79002 (ACOD) then an extension on the VoIP, what do you get?

The VOIP is a 3CX. The gateway I'm using is a Grandstream GXW4108.

Sorry do not know that one, but on a Cisco for example, the trunk would have to have dial peers set up in order to route the traffic, does this need something similar?

How do I set that up ? Never heard of that.

Thanks.

Does the phone on the pbx have TGAR 1? That will stop you.
You are not going to get anything on display other than the route and member because it's an analog trunk. For display you would need a PRI or SIP trunks.

My analog trunk as TGAR 1. All the other trunks except one has TGAR 1 as well and they are working fine. Thanks for the CLID info !

I have succesfully configured an analog port (type:500) that can communicate with the gateway. I would have liked to use an analog trunk instead because it can pool lines and I don't have to specify each extension. Is there a way to create a route with some analog extensions ?

You are trying to access the trunk by dialing the access from a telephone correct? Have you checked the TGAR on the telephone TN?
If it is TGAR 1 then you will get a busy signal when you dial the trunk access code. You need to change it to 0.

@StanleySteamer

Yes that is correct. My TARG on the route is 1, the TGAR on the trunk member is 1 and the TGAR on my phone is 2. I tried changing the TARG on the route to 0, I also tried changing the TGAR on the trunk member to 0 but unfortunately it doesn't work. I have abandoned the idea of using an analog trunk for this, I have reverted to an analog extension. This was a very enlightening conversation. Thank you all for your time.
