First let me say, this forum is great! Just found it so I'm a newbie here.
Now, the question I have is, has anyone experienced being able to do Anti-Tromboning between a M1/ Succession and the CO?
I would like to be able to front end some of my calls and transfer them back out with out tying up two of the B-channels on my PRI.
I know this can be done within the M1 network but does the CO recognize this and drop the trunk as well?

Thanks in advance!

If you can set up the interface as an ISDN switch using Q.SIG, you shoudl be able to do this (but I do not think the CO will operate using that type of interface).

What you would need is to set the IFC type as ISGF, and then set up PRI(path Replacement), DV3I(Call Diversion Notification) and CTI(Call Transfer Notification) in the RCAP.

This would be like setting up a Q.SIG trunk between a Nortel and another vendor PBX.

Again, I am not sure if the PRI will work, and even if it does, I am not sure if the CO will make the D-Channel config to do this, but it is wort a try.

If you get it to work, post back. I am sure there are some of us who could take advantage of that type of service.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

make sure the central office is set up for that and trmb yes in the correct prompt.. works great when you can program both ends, i've gotten it to work with the co but had access to the switchman on the far end..

John, thanks for the reply. Does the type of switch in the CO matter for setting this up. I was thinking it might have to be a DMS but not sure.
Thannks!!

YES IT HAS TO BE A DMS, I TRIED TO GET IT TO WORK WITH A 5ESS. THEN I FOUND OUT NORTEL ONLY SUPPORTS IT WITH A DMS

THE TERM FOR THAT FEATURE IS TBCT OR 2 B CHANNEL TRANSFER, I EVEN DID A SEARCH ON GOOGLE FOR TBCT WITH NORTEL MERIDIAN SWITCHES. THINKING THAT MAYBE WITH THE RELEASE OF 4.5 NORTEL HAD DECIDED TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCT, BUT NOOOOOOO!
