Crystal just released (26 May 2005) a fix for a bug that has irritated us for years. The bug sometimes truncates non-English letters at the end of fields if you use OLE connection, e.g. the Swedish city of Malmö becomes Malm. This fix ( is only for version 8.5, Developer edition and we don't have that. We have 8.5 Pro and 8.0 Developer. That means that the fix ( won't install for us.

Has anybody downloaded this fix and if so, is there some way I can get a copy of the fixed verions of p2soledb.dll (version 8.6.2.119 according to the documentation in the download)? It would sure help.

Thanks (hopefully!)
Jeff

Hello,
I don't have the fix but a possible workaround to this issue is to verify that the encoding on the database client is configured according to the examples below. Also, you will need to install the language pack in the English environment.

CONFIGURATION EXAMPLES:

* Shift-JIS for a Japanese database
* Big5 for a Traditional Chinese database
* GB2312 for a Simplified Chinese database
* iso-2022-kr for a Korean database
* Windows 1258 for a Vietnamese database

Hope this helps!
