Is that like the DVD cover? The only ones I have seen is an image of him sleeping on a tv screen. Are you looking to make it look like a tv image (i.e. thousands of little dots comprising the picture)? "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own." - Bruce Lee - The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

no, i ment the movie poster with the litte pictures showing his face from far

Ah, ok, I found it. You can simulate that with a couple filters that ship with Photoshop. Try to mosaic it then blur it. Toy with the settings a bit to get it where you like it. "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own." - Bruce Lee - The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

Wait a second. I just saw an image much larger than the thumbnail I originally found... That's not an effect in photoshop... at least not one that it ships with. It could just be the images I am finding are of poor quality, or even that I am going blind at a much higher rate than I thought, but unless I miss my guess, that's the type of artwork that takes movie cells from the film and assembles them into a picture, much like the popular ones of Yoda, Darth Vader and the One Dollar Bill.

Heh, all in one sentence.

I'm not sure what they used to get this effect. "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not. Add what is uniquely your own." - Bruce Lee - The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

a lot of time and well chosen stills.

There is also the chance that they use an alpha map to help control the brightness/contrast.

Bloody good if you can get it to work. Manic

i haven't seen the picture but it sounds like something they did for a time or life or some magazine cover where they took all the cover photos form the past 100 years and put them into a computer and had it make a picture of marilyn monroe or someone. if this is correct, i believe they said they had a program where u put a target photo in, and then had a huge database of photos to choose from and the computer went thru every photo trying to find the best fit for each area. i'm not sure if this is helpfull at all and most likely its not.

Hi, I wonder if you could be thinking of a number of software programs that construct an image from thousands of other images - I did a search in AltaVista for 'mosaic software'and the third item was which gives some nice examples of this. I know that there are quite a few programs that do this (maybe even a sharewear one by now?). Hope this is of help.

There was a program on the cover disc of PC format a while ago which did exactly this and shipped with a few hundred photos for you to expriment with. I think it was called photomontage but i could be wrong. Try emailing the PC format team and asking them.

hi, i tried the prismaticsoftware programm and it´s quite good.

you can build a pool of images, load in a target image, if you want you could change some options and the program builds up an collage using the target images as blue print.

the results you get a realy cood and you can inhance the image afterwards.

arcsoft.com has exactly what you are looking for it is called PhotoMontage 2000.
