I have to send a document to a service provider. How do I convert the true type fonts in my document to post script fonts? The printer cannot use true type fonts. Thank you.

Dotty: TrueType cannot be converted to Adobe Type1.
a) Replace the fonts in the document
or
b) Add the fonts and give them to the SP.
TrueType is generally not as good as Type1, but
for "normal" applications the difference is not relevant.
So put all files and images in Folder1 and copy the fonts
into Folder2.
Nevertheless you should ask the SP, WHY he can´t use
TrueType - he should have the same fonts on his PC.
It´s also possible to give PDFs to the SP with embedded
fonts, but this needs a lot of experience, because PDFs are
not editable.
Hope this helps. G.Hoffmann

Dear Zefir:
Thanks for the info. It was helpful. However, I have found a folder of PS fonts on my C drive, but they don't appear in Pagemaker (which is on my D drive, if that matters) as choices under the "fonts" pulldown. How can I get them to appear there? If I can do that, then I can select PS fonts instead of the TrueType. I really appreciate your help!

Dotty:
a) Fonts Type1 cannot be copied, the need to be installed by ATM.
b) Not all fonts appear in PM. E.g. the Italic and Bold versions are simply
available, but not mentioned. Of course the "normal" version should be mentioned.
Drive D: may be a problem. Usually Programs and Fonts are on the same drive.
The safe method: De-install all Type1 fonts by ATM. Install all necessary fonts
by ATM on C: in PSFonts.
De-install PM. Re-install PM on C: .
User files can be copied from D: to C: . Then delete anything in PM folders on D:
You may loose Printer Profiles or some page settings.
Hope this helps - it´s the standard workflow. ---G.Hoffmann
