Trsnsfer calls but have them return to receptionist 1

IPO 9.1.11, Preferred. This client wants voicemails to be delivered to mailboxes but only by the receptionist. They want the live receptionist to transfer a call and if it is not answered by three rings to return to her where she will either take a message or redirect the call or directly transfer to VM. I looked over their old 3.0 config and I cannot see how they did it before. They say they did.
 
Set the receptionists "Transfer Return Time" to the time three rings take.
Add a shortcode like #XXX/#N/Voicemail Collect/0 and the receptionist then can transfer calls to #<extension number to transfer to the users VM.
 
Turn off the "Voicemail On" setting on other users will help. Then it won't be a race between their No Answer Time and the Transfer Return Time.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
 
Transfer return time avoids the transferred call to follow the users voicemail timer and/or forward on no answer/busy settings.....

 
OK I set it up remotely. I actually did find the #XXX SC in the old config but the transfer return timer for the receptionist was off. But it all makes sense.
 
I gave intrigrant a star for the correct answer since OP did not.

If the receptionist had the return timer turned off maybe they have forward no answer/busy set on each extension to return to receptionist that way. More programming but could be how they did it without the return timer. There are usually a few ways to handle things but usually a best/easiest way which would be what intrigrant suggested.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
