TRR Question

Hi,
I have a 016 TRR board. I have the first port on the bottom as ext 18. WHen I bring up WinSPM, no matter where I select a system access button, I get no system dialtone. If I call the extension from another one, it rings, and I can pick it up. I used to be able to get system access dial tone on this extension till I had a problem programming it about a week ago. All other 15 extentions on board work, and when I do an extension status from another single line phone, it says that extension 18 is ok. If I drop a personal outside line on extension 18, when I pick it up, I get outside dial tone, but can't get system dialtone on it. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Try reprogramming the Auto Line Select. In WinSPM, go to Centralized Programming, enter the extension number, then click on ANY SA button. Now type *14, and then press Shift-F1, Shift F2, Shift-F3, then type **14. See if that gets you back to accessing System Access when going off hook.

Hi,
Ok, I tried what you suggested, and no go. As another test, I added an outside line to the extension, so when I go off hook, I get outside. I dialed a call, and then flashed on that extension. It put the call I had on hold, and gave me inside dialtone, so I know the port is good. I printed out another extension on the board that is giving me system dialtone right off hook, and it is the same as 18. DO you have any other suggestions? I am going to keep investigating.

Could this be a PHONE PROBLEM?

What happens with a different set at this location?

I have tried this phone at different locations on the same board, and it works fine. I will try another phone at ext 18, but I suspect I will get the same result. I will let you know.

Hi,
Same result with a different phone. I can call the extension, just can't get off hook system dialtone. I will check the programming again, but it looks identical to the other extensions that work on that board. This extension did work, and when do a test on that extension from another single line, it comes back with the confirmation tones that it is good. I have a feeling I am missing something in the programming.

After going thru all the options, I tried the centralized programming again, and this time it worked. I must have missed a step the last time thru. Thanks again to everyone for all their help. The extension is working fine. I hope everyone has a great holiday season, and I hope to be a help to someone someday as much as everyone has helped me in this forum.
