Troubleshooting DNS issue

Howdy-

I am troubleshooting DNS where NSLOOKUP returns non-existant domain.

The domain had a forward but no reverse lookup zone. It's using DHCP for IPs.

Does it need a reverse lookup zone to work properly?

Where should I start?
