Troubleshooting a failed backup

I'm having trouble finding the cause of a consistent backup failure that seems to only be happening when a full backup is run. When it fails it says "exited on signal 9". Any info would be a great help. Thanks.

run "savegrp -v -l level -G group" from the command line and check the daemon.log file.
