Hello,

I'm in use of Networker 6.1 (Solaris 8). Today I got in trouble with some query results. After confirming the following command: mminfo -a -r "volume, written, volretent", Networker came up with a list of volumes depicting everyone's state. Not very exciting, isn't it? Some volumes stated to be expired, others depicted the date, when the last saveset is to be expired. Both policies (Retention/Browser) were set to 1 month. Today (October, 20th, 2003) I had to catch the sight of volumes, that stated to be expired at October, the 14th. Why doesn't the system tell me, that the volume is already expired?

Much thanks for your help!

I guess this is due to the 'first usage' of the media.

Since a while there is no volume retention date any more - NW simply uses the latest/longest retention policy for the save set.

However, if you have old tapes, still the old values could be shown.
