I have a Partner ACS R6 with the voicemail card. It has worked flawlessly since it was installed in 2006. Yesterday we had a power failure. Once the partner system powered back up, it gave me the message that the AAA batteries required replacement. All programming was lost. I have successfully reprogrammed the partner with the exception of the voicemail.

Incoming calls on all lines are now are immediately answered by the automated attendant. I have searched the manuals but have not been successful in stopping this. Our preference is that only one CO line is answered with voicemail after 4 rings. Extension 16 has a vms cover button programmed.

I am looking for your advice on how, once I replace the pc voicemail card, what should be my programming first step. Again we only want to have the one line only go to vm after 4 rings. We do not need the automated attendant.

Thank you so much in advance. I do have the manual, but can't understand how I ended up with the automated attendant answering on the first ring on all lines.

Manual. You need the manual. Here is the manual.

It's not really difficult if you don't get lost in looking at every individual program because not everything needs to be changed from default.

Your incoming calls are being answered by the "auto attendant" because you haven't programmed your voicemail ports.

When you say you have a "Partner ACS R6 with the voicemail card", so you mean the PCMCIA voicemail card that goes into the ACS itself?

If so, so these 2 programs

#505-7-78-1
#505-7-79-1

Now to make Line 1 be answered by Mailbox 16 (when its Voicemail Coverage button is turned on) go:

#206-7-01-3
#208-01-16

Be sure that Line 1 RINGS on Ext. 16, either Immediate or Delayed

And if you have a different voicemail module, please list all of your modules, in the order that they are installed in the carrier, I will be able to give you the correct extension numbers to put in #505-7

Tommy, That worked great!!! Appreciate your help. The user of this voicemail box had some old messages from his then little kid and we were afraid all was lost. You are the hero!!!

I had programmed the voicemail ports but had overlooked the last two steps you nicely gave to me.

Again thanks!

Apparently, you don't have a Backup/Restore card in the slot next to your VM card. Get one and Backup your programming. I give them away just to avoid situations like this.
