Trouble with sending e-mail

I am trying to send e-mail from MS Access, but I keep getting an error. I selected a table and went to File-send... but I got a message that said it couldn't open the mail session and to check and see if my mail is working properly. Why is this? I am using MS Outlook.
The same thing happened when I built a button that would send a report through e-mail.

Check and make sure your MAPI library have been checked. E-Mail use these library to sent the report via e-mail. What code are you using to sent the report?

I don't have any code yet. I'm just trying to get it to not give me the error. How do I check the MAPI library?

On a form in design mode, click to view the VB code, then go Tool/References and look for Microsoft MAPI Control.

There's a "Microsoft Map" category but no MAPI.
