I have opt 11 with 3.0..I have 43 ip hones on there all ready. They got some more and i can not get them going for the life of me. I am thinking there must be a firware issue. When i program up the phone with all the config it says loading then comes back with unable to reach sever. So i then took a working one out of service and changed tn"s and it works on the old phone new tn but not the new.Went to nortels site and have no idea which firware to download ANY.....Help Would be accepted THANKS. Are you using DHCP? Can you ping the Node IP? Print and post a TNB. Maybe you are on a different subnet or vlan. Try a working set in that location. You may need some adjustments to your data network. Try a new phone in a known good location. Everything is on IP but the ports on the ethernet switch can be programmed differently.

DO you have enough IP LIC?

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

FYI the firmware on the set will automatically upgrade when the set attempts to register with the signaling server.

Check the log on the Sig server, if you have all the settings correct on the phone and suspect that it needs different firmware.

If you are not sure if you can reach the server, then grab a laptop, setup the Nic with the same settings as the phone and try to ping the Sig Server......

It sure sounds to me like a vlan or subnet routing problem. If the server cannot be reached it is one of 2 things. 1 being incorrect settings on the phone set and 2 being incorrect settings on the switch port the set is plugged into.

I am on same vlan and sub.And i have 7 lic left.I know that a firware had to be loaded before to make them work. And that was about 2 years ago thats why i am thinking that way but havn"t got a clue...There are so many different patches and firware loads out there don"t know were to go...Thanks you all so much for the fast reply.I am not there to get a copy of any thing. Matter of fact i have seen that switch for years..Just-A-Tech

If the phone worked on another TN you outted then it's not the Firmware or the phone.

Do an SLT to see if you have enough Lic.

Ace..I mean"t that i programed the old phone on the tn i was going to use on the new phone. So i new that the tn worked. Then i place the new phone in where the old one was and used the tn for that an the same came up can"t locate sever...So i placed the old phone back and entered all setting and it came up..

Like tnphoneman said sounds like vlan or subnet routing problem.

I had the same issue with a site.
try setting up the phone with no vlan and see if it gets it FW update, if so it is a network issue.
