Greetings partner gurus. I have a 5x9 partner with system memory problems.
I installed a backup/restore card and successfully backed it up.
I restored it and some of the programming was restored, ring assignments etc.
But all the button programming wasn't is this the norm or did I do something wrong
your help would be appreciated thanks.

You restored it to itself or to another 5x9?

Have you tried using the remote programming software, and a direct connection to the serial port with a 355A adapter?

Just wondering, if you press "FEATURE 5 9" from any system telephone with a display, what do you see [ponder].

Early R7 software versions had problems retaining system configurations especially after a power failure.

I restored the same unit after it defaulted overnight.
my question is does a backup copy all programming or just system programming.
Returning to site today I'll do a F59 to get the system version.
Thanks for the input

I think that "E" is the original software that came with the R7 processor. At this point, upgrading the firmware to the highest R7 or all the way up to R8 might be worth consideration. [smile]

I was informed that there is a problem with garbled sounding voice mail greetings if the system is upgraded to 8.0.
The manual says the only thing not restored is time and date. The customer can live with manually restoring from time to time if I can get it to restore all programming.
Thanks for your help

You wrote: "I was informed that there is a problem with garbled sounding voice mail greetings if the system is upgraded to 8.0" (referring to Partner ACS R8 processor).

Can you be more specific about this? What voicemail version does it happen with and what circumstances cause the garbled voice mail greetings. I'd like to avoid this problem if possible while I am upgrading to Partner ACS R8. I have partner Messaging R7 for voice mail.

Does anyone know about this problem and it's causes?

Thank you
